Bio:
Dorothea Bernique is a Financial Literacy Educator and is the founder of The Financial Training Center, located in N. Charleston, SC. The Financial Training Center serves the tri-county areas of Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley counties.

The Financial Training Center offers educational training, seminars, conferences on financial literacy and money management principles. The Financial Literacy Training Curriculum, F$U (Financial Survival University) teaches and trains low to moderate income individuals on how to implement money management skills and strategies. Other services offered are self paced online training and teleseminars for those with busy schedules. Mrs. Bernique also serves on the education committee of the S.C. Jumpstart Coalition, a non-profit organization of individuals representing business, government and education and together we’re working to better educate individuals and families concerning personal finances.

Dorothea is dedicated and committed to seeing others become educated and empowered in the area of finances, especially women. Mrs. Bernique is a business partner with schools in the local area and spends time in the classroom teaching and instructing young people. Her time and talents are also given to local non-profit organizations as well as churches. She spends time giving out to others whenever given the opportunity and is honored to have had the opportunity to be a part of the Wi$e Up Program for Women in association with the US Dept of Labor. From June 04 to Nov 05, Dorothea could be heard weekly on Gospel 106.3 (call letters WJNI) on “Money Matter Mondays” in the Charleston area. She is licensed in the state of SC as an insurance agent and, has worked as Registered Representative in the securities industry. Dorothea is also a HUD Certified Housing Counselor.

Dorothea who is also a U.S military veteran of the US Air Force has been married for 27 years to retired Master Sergeant Christopher Bernique who served 22 years in the U.S Air Force. She has two children, her daughter Stephanie, currently serving in the U. S Air Force and Stephen the father of her three grandchildren.
