Bio:
Gail Cunningham was born and raised in Wichita Falls, TX.
After going hundreds of miles away to attend college at Tulane
University and The University of Texas at Austin, she married
a Wichita Falls boy she’d known all of her life and
moved back home. They raised 4 children, and now have 6 grandchildren.
Gail began working for Consumer Credit Counseling Service
of Greater Dallas in 1987, opening their first office outside
of the Dallas metroplex area. She and her staff built it into
what remains as the largest of the 27 offices in 4 states
for CCCS. After counseling for 16 years, Gail is now Vice
President of Business Relations, handling the all advertising,
marketing and creditor relations for the company.
Cunningham is a Certified Consumer Credit Counselor, and
in 2002 was named the National Counselor of the Year by the
National Foundation for Credit Counseling. She has been active
in her local community, serving on such boards as the Better
Business Bureau, Child Advocates (CASA), Bank One Community
Advisory Board, Commissioner for the Wichita Falls Housing
Authority, and was a charter member of the Wichita Falls Family
Self Sufficiency Program. Most recently, Gail began writing
a weekly column for The Times and Record News, titled The
Bottom Line.
Devoted to advancing financial literacy, Cunningham hosted
for 5 years the “It’s Your Money” television
show on Time-Warner Cable. Additionally, she appears live
on the local CBS affiliate each Wednesday during the Noon
Show, and hosts “Smart Money” airing Tuesday evenings
during the 10 PM Newscast.
