Bio:
Sharon began her career at the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) of Kansas City, which is located in Kansas City, MO, in 1964. During her 21 years there, the first 7 years were in Check Operations; the last 14 years there were spent in the Internal Audit Department where she received several promotions. In 1985, she left the FRB to go to work at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO as an audit senior. Upon receiving a request and offer from the Board of Directors of Brotherhood Bank & Trust in Kansas City, KS in 1988 to create and implement an internal audit department, Ms. Hardy terminated her employment with the hospital. In 1998, in conjunction with an executive search for an internal audit director at Citizens Bank & Trust, which is headquartered in Chillicothe, MO, Ms. Hardy, left Brotherhood Bank & Trust to assume this position where she is still currently employed. Citizens Bank & Trust is an organization that presenting includes 25 banks, primary in the northern part of the state, with total assets in excess of 1.5 billion dollars. In January 2005, Ms. Hardy was promoted to Executive Vice President/Director of Audit. She has managerial responsibilities encompass the Internal Audit, Compliance, and Security Units which comprise the Internal Audit Department. Ms. Hardy holds a: a) bachelors of science degree in Accounting/Management from Park College in Parkville, MO, b) degree in Audit Management from the School of Banking – University of Wisconsin at Madison, and c) MBA in Finance from the Avila College in Kansas City, MO. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Ms. Hardy is a member of several professional organizations and, with all, has served some capacity or another as an executive officer and/or board member. These organizations include: 1) The Institute of Internal Auditors, 2) The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, 3) National Black MBA Association, 4) American Business Women, 5) Business Professional Women, 6) Missouri Women Bankers Committee, 7) Urban Financial Services Coalition, Inc., and 8) Black Economic Union. Ms. Hardy is very active in the banking and business communities throughout Missouri and, where on request, gives presentations on topics applicable to her areas of expertise, including leadership. She and her husband, John, reside in the Cameron, MO area and have three children and three grandchildren. Ms. Hardy is a longtime member of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO.
