Bio:
Jana Castanon is the Community Outreach Director for Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Kansas City. She has been with CCCS for 4 years, the first year of which she was a Certified Financial Counselor.

Jana began her career in the banking industry before returning to college to get her degree in elementary education. Her current position provides her the opportunity to combine both of her passions; teaching and providing financial information to the public. In her current position, Jana focuses on the development of community partnerships with employers, financial institutions, non-profits and government agencies. Through these partnerships, Consumer Credit Counseling Service provides effective financial education programs that meet real needs.

In her on-going work to promote financial education, she is currently the director of the Kansas City Saves coalition, a national campaign to promote savings through America Saves, and is a key committee member for the annual Money Smart week. She is also currently featured weekly on KCMO Channel 9 for a financial education segment called the Money Minute.
