About the speakers

Kathryn Wilber is the Executive Director for Private Market Regulation at America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). As a national association representing 1,300 health insurance companies, AHIP's goal is to provide a unified voice for the health care financing industry and to improve insurance options for consumers. Kathryn previously served as Assistant General Counsel for the American Association of Health Plans, a predecessor organization to AHIP. She provided an overview of health insurance issues and options.

Gloria LeGrand is the Owner and CEO of State Farm Insurance Agency in Texas. She has received several awards and accolades including the Distinguished African American Alumni Award from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2001. Her committment to community and her profession is evidenced by her involvement with numerous community-based organizations and her desire to help others through insurance. Gloria covered auto and disability insurance.

Bob Hunter is the Director of Insurance, Consumer Federation of America. His experience includes serving as the Commissioner of Insurance for the State of Texas, President and Founder of the National Insurance Consumer Organization, and Federal Insurance Administrator for the Federal Insurance Administration. He authored numerous publications on insurance and has received several service awards including the Esther Peterson Consumer Service Award for Lifetime Achievement. Bob discussed home and life insurance.
